Making a Difference with Affordable Housing in Winnemucca
July 14, 2016
With the cost of everything escalating around us it’s a challenge for many people to make it financially day to day. Affordable housing has made all the difference. The Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) creates hope for the future by providing a full range of housing and community development programs that help build and sustain independent communities in Nevada’s fifteen rural counties. Ascent Construction’s leadership team, Justin Brady, (Project Manager) and Anthony Prince, (Superintendent) and many different subcontractors have worked diligently over the past year in Winnemucca constructing 30 apartments for NRHA. On July 13, 2016, the NRHA Board members, employees of NRHA, community representatives, and representatives of the property management company came together for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the project. These affordable housing units look great and will be the new homes for families in the local community that need them most. We enjoyed working with Beth Dunning, Project Development Coordinator, Michael Hynick, Construction Manager, and Don Boebel, Sr. Project Manager (NRHA)—each helped significantly with this project. I was very proud of our team who almost missed the ribbon cutting because they were busy hanging pictures, dusting doors and making sure the units looked spotless for the participants who would tour the new facility throughout the day. This is the kind of caring attitude and service we try to exemplify in every aspect of our work. In the end, a building is just a building. It’s all about the people whose lives you have influenced for good and the positive impacts you can have on relationships and communities that matter. We wish Larios Arms and the new residents years of happiness in your new homes. Thank you for allowing Ascent Construction to build your community.
